Kevin George, who took over the business after the death of his father Harry in 1981, has continued to run it since then.  Initially studying as a fine-artist before training under his father, he has used his visual skills to great effect, both in varnish restoration and in the difficult task of the identification of old instruments.

Kathy, Kevin's wife, organises the postal service and secretarial side of the business. She worked as an infant school teacher until leaving to start a family and is both efficient and popular with staff and customers alike.

Simon, the chief restorer, has been with the business since his teenage years.  He trained under Harry George and has gone on from strength to strength, having a rare and intuitive feel for the natural qualities of wood.

George, the bow restorer and rehairer, trained initially in furniture restoration in London.  He is patient and modest and immensely hard working.

Karen is Kevin's sister and also trained as an artist. She now works part-time for The Violin Shop where her forte is in varnish restoration. She also designs the annual Violin Shop Christmas card, many customers saving them as collectors' items.
