The Violin Shop
The Violin Shop was established in 1975 by Harry George, ex-Halle orchestra violinist and the business is now run by his son Kevin and Kathy, Kevin’s wife.
Our restorer and repairer Simon, is in charge of the workshop and has been with the business for over 40 years. Kevin’s sister Karen, an artist, specialises in varnish restoration.
We are always interested in purchasing good old violins, violas, cellos and bows.

Most of the instruments we sell are antique and we have even sold violins dating from Shakespeare’s time. Instrument values vary enormously and as stock is constantly changing it is advisable to contact us for more information.
We sell new and restored instruments at prices ranging from around £70 for a second hand violin outfit rising to many thousands for fine antique or modern instruments.
We stock a comprehensive selection of strings and accessories for all the violin family instruments. You are welcome to use our postal service for these.
